Exmouth Beach & Promenade
Whether you’re starting your morning with a stroll along the beautiful Esplanade, or spending the day by the sea, Exmouth Beach & Promenade are a must-visit location for visitors to the town.
With two miles of golden sands, Exmouth Beach is perfect for sunbathing, sandcastle building, rock-pooling or a refreshing swim. The promenade offers stunning views of the coastline and is lined with pubs, cafés and amusements. Additionally, at the end of the Promenade is Queen’s Drive Space, a Jurassic-themed children’s play area that usually has additional activities for little ones during the summer.
Exe Estuary Trail
Nature lovers will adore the Exe Estuary. This stunning natural haven is perfect for bird watching, cycling or simply enjoying a peaceful walk along its scenic paths.
The Exe Estuary Trail offers some of the best views of the surrounding landscape. Surfaced and mostly flat, the route offers a 16-mile way-marked trail from Exmouth to Exeter and beyond to Dawlish Warren, passing through the pretty villages of Lympstone, Topsham and Starcross.
The RSPB Bowling Green Marsh near Topsham and Dawlish Warren National Nature Reserve offer some of the best opportunities to view wildlife along the estuary.
RNLI Welly Trail
To celebrate their 200th anniversary, the RNLI have created a Yellow Welly Trail! Pick up a map from Exmouth Tourism Information Office and find the 15 wellies, each with a name of the Exmouth Lifeboat Coxswain. Once complete, head to the RNLI shop at the lifeboat station to receive a prize!

For the adrenaline-lovers, Exmouth Watersports offers a range of activities from paddleboarding and kayaking to windsurfing. They also host junior residential camps, beach clubs, activity days and junior programmes for thrill-seeking kids to enjoy!

Located in the Beach Gardens, opposite Exmouth Pavilion, Exmouth’s Big Wheel returns once again! Open weekends until the summer holidays and then every day throughout, enjoy a leisurely ride to view Exmouth’s picturesque coastline from high above.
Stuart Line Cruises
Explore the coastline from a different perspective with Stuart Line Cruises. Offering a variety of trips, including coastal cruises, river trips, and special themed excursions, it’s a great way to see the sights and learn about the area’s history.
Book your tickets in advance via their website or booking office in the town and embark from Exmouth Marina to explore East Devon’s glorious waterways.
World of Country Life
World of Country Life is a fantastic family day out. Located at Sandy Bay, World of Country Life boasts a petting zoo, vintage vehicle collection and a farming museum, as well as offering plenty of fun activities such as tractor rides and falconry displays; meaning there’s something to keep everyone entertained.
Seaton Tramway
Take a short trip to the nearby Seaton Tramway. This historic tramway offers a scenic ride on heritage narrow gauge trams through the beautiful Axe Valley to Colyton. Passing through Seaton Wetlands, there’s plenty of opportunities to spot wildlife along the way too.

Exmouth Dinosaur Trail
Step back in time with the Exmouth Dinosaur Trail. Be sure to collect your map from Exmouth’s Tourist Information Office first!
Orcombe Point & The Jurassic Coast
Orcombe Point marks the beginning of the Jurassic Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Geoneedle monument here is a great spot for panoramic views of the coastline. It’s a perfect starting point for a walk along the stunning cliffs and the South West Coast Path.
A La Ronde
A visit to A La Ronde is a must. This quirky 18th-century house, with its unique 16-sided design, is filled with fascinating collections and unusual artefacts. Owned by the National Trust, the surrounding gardens offer beautiful views and a peaceful spot for a picnic.
Located outside the town centre, you can visit A La Ronde on foot via the East Devon Way & South West Coast Path, by catching the train or bus and walking the rest, or by car and parking in their free car park.
