Exmouth RNLI Crew Exercises – Wednesday evenings
Our Exmouth RNLI volunteer crew are always ready, in all weathers, to head out to sea when people are in difficulty and need help. They train regularly on Wednesday evenings, usually launching the lifeboat on exercise at around 6.15 pm with recovery at around 8 pm. Check our Facebook page for the latest updates and come down and see them in action. https://www.facebook.com/ExmouthRNLI
Our volunteer shore and boat crews commit significant personal time to their training, so they are always ready to help others when the pager goes off.
Exmouth RNLI Tours
The lifeboat station is on Queens Drive, just across the road from the Foxholes car park. Come and take a free behind-the-scenes tour and find out from our volunteer guides what it takes to launch one of the lifeboats. Learn more about both of our lifeboats (the Shannon powered by water jets and the inshore lifeboat that’s launched on rescues an average of twice a week) and see the equipment that our volunteer crews use when they’re saving lives at sea.
Tours Guides are on duty every weekend and every day during school holidays.
Exmouth RNLI Shop
Our Shop, located alongside the station, is open 10am to 5pm every day. In addition, from 28 May 2025 there will be late–night opening on Wednesdays from 5 pm until 7 pm, to complement Crew Training Sessions.
We have a wide range of RNLI items including toys, hats, bags, gifts and Christmas Cards; and all you need for the beach. Check our Facebook page.https://www.facebook.com/ExmouthRNLIShopFundraising/?locale=en_GB
Exmouth RNLI Welly Trail
Follow the RNLI200 Yellow Welly Trail and find the 17 locations around Exmouth with Yellow Wellies and a QR code linking to information about one of the 17 Exmouth lifeboats that have been in service since 1803.
The trail is approximately 2 miles (3.2 km). It doesn’t have to be done in the same day and there are no hills. Free Welly Trail maps are available from Exmouth Lifeboat Station and the Exmouth Tourist Information Service. Here is a link for more information including a full list of stockists: https://www.exmouthlifeboat.org.uk/the-welly-trail/

RNLI Lifeguards
Our RNLI lifeguard colleagues, who are patrolling Exmouth beach daily between 10 am and 6 pm, from 3 May until 28 September 2025. Look out for the red and yellow flags which means that the lifeguards are in operation, and it is safe to swim there. Following extensive training, they offer preventative advice and a lifesaving service.
Exmouth RNLI 200 Mural
Look out for the huge mural honouring the Exmouth RNLI volunteers past and present on Manchester Road, off Imperial Road. It was created by local street artist Gary Cook, known as Garf, who also painted the yellow wellies around the Trail.
