Cycle hire

Exmouth Cycle Hire is conveniently situated close to the start of the most popular cycle routes in East Devon and Knobblies Bike Shop offers guided rides in the local area.

National Cycle Network

The National Cycle Network Route 2 stretches from Dover in Kent to St Austell in Cornwall and covers 359 miles in total. 75 miles are in Devon where the route runs between Dorset and Plymouth via Exeter and the south coast. From Lyme Regis on the Dorset border, Route 2 travels through Seaton, Sidmouth and Exmouth. It then circumnavigates the Exe Estuary via Exeter to Dawlish on the traffic free Exe Estuary Trail.
Between Poole and Exeter, the route is also signed as part of the Tour de Manche circular cycle route which links the South West of England with Cherbourg and Roscoff in Northern France. The
Tour de Manche is a long distance cross-channel cycle route which follows the French coastline of Brittany and Normandy and the British Jurassic coastline of Dorset and Devon.

Estuary Trail

Boasting stunning views of the Exe Estuary, the Exe Estuary Trail is hugely popular with locals and tourists alike; if you are feeling energetic you can cycle all the way from Exmouth to Exeter Quay and Exeter City Centre. Or you can cycle up one side of the River Exe and down the other to Starcross, catching the water taxi back to where you started. The only limit is the energy you have in your legs!

Exmouth to Knowle

Explore the old Exmouth to Budleigh Salterton railway line with the opportunity to stop off at a pub in Knowle. This is a gentle cycle along the disused railway path running from Exmouth’s Phear Park to Budleigh Salterton. The path is ideal for families looking for a safe, easy route.
