The Voices of the Exe Trail shares the audio stories of ten families who have a deep connection to the Exe Estuary and surrounding landscape. It features a central mural celebrating the Voices of the Exe Estuary, designed and painted by local mural artist GARf. The trail’s audio stories provide insights into how community members who live and work with the water are navigating change in their lives and livelihoods.
The trail is designed to be experienced in the coastscape, by listening to the audio stories in situ as you walk along the estuary. The wheelchair-accessible trail route offers 10 trail markers with QR codes you can scan to access audio clips about the past, present and future importance of that location for local people, plus the central mural celebrating the Voices of the Exe.
It takes around 1 hour to travel the length of the trail.
Free trail maps can be found at Exmouth Tourist Information, 45A The Strand, Exmouth EX8 1AL and inside The Strand Inn.
