Big Sing! at Exmouth

The Exmouth Big Sing! on Tuesday, October 28, will feature a singing workshop followed by an evening concert at Holy Trinity Church, Exmouth.

The event is hosted by Devon’s four popular Good Afternoon Choirs.

The workshop, from 2pm to 5pm, will be led by Craig Northway, Jon Rawles, Maria Thorne, and the founder of the Good Afternoon Choirs, Grenville Jones.

Mr Jones said: “It’s going to be a great day of music with new pieces to learn in the afternoon by the hundred plus singers who will attend the workshop.

“Then in the evening from 7pm (until approximately 9.15pm), there will be a concert at which the special guests are the Exmouth Shanty Men – the original buoy band.

“The Exmouth Shanty Men are one of the most exciting and entertaining acts to appear on the traditional folk scene in years, and surely the most cheery gaggle of rascals you are ever likely to meet.”

There are currently 35 Good Afternoon Choirs across the West of England, and singers representing many of them will be attending the workshop and concert.
